Spring is in the air!

Good evening my friends!  Once again to my mother's, and several friends urging, I thought I would bring you up to date on how things are progressing (or on some days not).

I'm still battling the bowel spasms, and unfortunately we don't have a clear picture as to why they are happening.  Saw Dr. Lara last week (he is the pancreatic specialist....even though I don't have a pancreas anymore), and his best educated guess is it's due to the amount of scar tissue, and just general weakness in my bowels from the two surgeries.  We're trying another medication to see if that will help.  Yes, one more added to the list.  We often laugh at the amount of pill bottles on the counter, and the pill container that has daily, morning, lunch, dinner, and night time slots. I will admit, without that pill container, life would be just a little more complicated. Anyway, they are hoping with time the bowel spasms will improve once the bowels become stronger.  Unfortunately, there is not much to do with the scar tissue, unless I want another surgery to help remove some, but than would have new scar tissue from that surgery.  No thanks, I'll pass on another surgery.

The last couple days, have been pretty rough with vomiting. I'm trying to diagnose myself on this one. I ran out of one of my medications, Protonex, last week and am waiting on insurance approval to get it refilled.  I usually try not to complain about insurance companies, but really?  This medication is used to coat the stomach and help with digestion, something they say I will be on for this remaining lifetime.  For some reason the insurance company feels that I'm taking to many of the same meds and don't see the necessity of it.  I just love when non-medical people try and make decisions about your health.  I've got good old Dr. Levey on their case, so hopefully soon I'll have my medicine and can get on the road to feeling better with that.

I'm gaining some of my strength back, still not running any marathons, but plugging right along.  Now that the weather is warmer, it's nice to go outside and walk some. Still struggling with my weight, or the lack of it, but like they keep telling me, it's one day at a time. I promise to never complain about having a little meat to the body again, wearing junior clothing is not all that it's cracked up to be.

Spring is definitely in the air, and I'm loving it.  Seeing the flowers start to bloom and the grass getting green are sure signs of God's awesome grace.  How can people not believe?

I do have a couple prayer request for all my prayer warriors out there.  My dear friend Jena Weisheit lost her precious 24 year old nephew, 2 weeks ago, in a tragic car accident.  He left behind his wife Jodi, his 2 year old son Colton, his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.  Please keep them in your prayers as they are learning how to go on and live their life without this loved one.  Please continue to keep Rodney Lamfer's in your prayers as well.  He's fighting his 2nd fight with Leukemia, things are pretty rough right. A miracle is needed, and we know that only God can provide that miracle.

Some of you may have seen this post on my facebook, but I wanted to share this again for those who didn't.  This is a song by Mercy Me, "Bring the Rain".  I listened to this song repeatedly while in the hospital, and now at home.  This is my song, I hope you enjoy it!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m17af0XmPFo

Love to all~
